I thoroughly enjoyed this experience which provided the audience with a behind-the-scenes peek at the necessary array of details that must be in place, to ensure an epic performance. Every prop must be in an exact location and not an inch off! The actors must not only deliver their lines with an extraordinary sense of confidence, but assume the correct posture, while remaining visible to every single audience member. And most importantly, the play must be true to the historical period of 1402-1403, while effortlessly connecting with viewers living in the year 2014! This brilliant ensemble, led by Stacy Keach, who plays the beloved Falstaff, bring renewed vigor to Shakespeare's words. At the end of the rehearsal, I was able to connect with a few of the main actors and pepper them with questions regarding how they prepare to retell this timeless story. It would be an understatement to say that I was impressed! If this was the effect of the first open rehearsal, I can only imagine what a grand show the live production running from March 25th - June 7th, will be!
